“Morning Star set sail for the Greek island of Evia in early October with a fantastic short-term missions team from Bayside Community Church from Florida, USA. The purpose of the trip was two-fold: to pray that the Gospel will take root in the Greek isles and to encourage the growing and vibrant evangelical church in the fishing village of Pefki.
Our first stop was the town of Limni, where we enjoyed a traditional Greek meal. We also spent time praying that many in this town will believe the Good News that Jesus Christ brings eternal life. After sailing north and spending a memorable night anchored in a beautiful bay, we sailed to the town of Pefki and spent two days with the local evangelical church. All of us agree that our time with the believers in Pefki was a rich, refreshing and special time. (The church was started many years ago by a fisherman who shared the Gospel in this town despite fierce opposition by the local community.) We were wonderfully blessed and encouraged by the hospitality and generosity of the believers in Pekfi.
